PAST WORK

We are the Michigan Advertising & Marketing Club, a student run organization that provides the opportunity for students to gain marketing and advertising experience as well as to help businesses and organizations effectively market and advertise themselves.

MAM is made up of 3 types of teams.

MARKET RESEARCH TEAM

The Market Research Team ( MRT) is responsible for conducting market research, which provides client teams with key information to plan and execute marketing strategy, as well as measure its success. MRT often conducts field experiments, survey research, online research, and data analysis.

CLIENT TEAMS

CREATIVE DESIGN TEAM

Client teams are made up of 4 to 6 students and are tasked with developing marketing strategies for their client. Client teams are grouped by business, restaurant/
entertainment, and lifestyle.

 

Each client team is lead by an Account Director who communicates directly with the client and helps facilitate team meetings.

Creative Design Team (CDT) members  responsible for the creative work for all of the MAM clients. In addition to designing and producing content for client teams, they also participate in CDT wide projects and activities.

 

Past projects have included mobile application design, posters and fliers, social media posts, and videos.

BUSINESSES

Send an email to mampresident@umich.edu to get started. We are no longer looking for clients for Fall 2014, but we're always open to building relationships for future semesters. We look for businesses interested in print, digital, and social media work done by Michigan students.

 

Interested businesses must have strong communication skills and be willing to delegate tasks and needs to our student members.

STUDENTS

Thanks for your interest in MAM. We are no longer accepting fall applicants, but will start recruiting again in the winter. Please check back in January for more information.

 

Prospective members should have strong interest in advertising, marketing, market research, and/or advertising design. They must be willing and able to work in teams, and motivated to participate in club-wide activities. We look for members that are able to think creatively and solve client challenges.

Meet our 2014—2015 Executive Board! They're a pretty cool bunch.

CHRIS TRAN
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Chris is currently a senior studying Mathematics and Communication Studies. Since joining MAM as a freshman, he started as a general member and previously served as the MRT Co-Director. Besides MAM, Chris is an avid photographer and enjoys traveling.

MOLLY TOMPKINS
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
(BUSINESS)

Molly is a junior BBA concentrating in Marketing and Strategy wiht a minor in Writing. She has been involved with MAM since her freshman year and was an Account Director for three semesters before becoming SVP. This summer, she interned in Marketing for Verizon Wireless.

ALISON BLOCH
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
(RESTAURANT/
ENTERTAINMENT)

Alison is currently a senior studying Psychology with minors in Applied Statistics and Global Media Studies. She has previously held two Account Director positions, and once delivered a baby in Belize City Hospital.

JUDY SU
PRESIDENT

Judy is currently a senior majoring in Fine Arts and Communication Studies. She has been in MAM for four years, previously holding the Creative Director position.

Judy recently spent 4 months studying abroad in Denmark and her main hobbies include cooking and watching Netflix.

MAHRAAN QADIR
PUBLIC RELATIONS AND EVENT DIRECTOR

Mahraan is a junior majoring in Business and Computer Science. He was previously a member of the Necto Team, then Account Director for the OptiMize Team.

WENDY KU
CO-CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Wendy is a junior majoring in business and minoring in art. This is her third year in MAM, and her first on the Executive Board.

SUSAN ZHANG
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT (LIFESTYLE)

Susan is a BBA senior in her 4th year in MAM. She was previously the Account Director of WWFF and despite years of effort, has never been able to eat a whole Chipotle burrito.

MICHAEL HAUPT
CO-CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Michael is a senior majoring in Anthropology and Psychology. This is the beginning of his 4th year in MAM, and his second year being the Co-Creative Director of CDT.

Michael prides himself on being able to move his ears back and forth without touching them and actually likes feeling cold.

CARMEN LEE
MARKET RESEARCH DIRECTOR

Carmen is a senior studying Business and Financial Mathematics. This will be her fourth year in MAM and her third year on the Market Research Team.
